The drop box will remain open 24/7 to the public for purposes pertaining to County business as follows:
- Motor vehicle renewals
- Recording documents
- Payments to County Treasurer
Vehicle titles generally require an appointment because the applicant needs to fill out an application for title (that is generated here) and requires a signature; however, if title work is dropped in the outside drop box, we will process them to the extent possible and let the applicant know about further requirements if contact information is provided. You will not receive license plates until all paperwork is complete and the
Application for Title is signed.
If you utilize the drop box, it is always a good idea to leave your contact information in case we have any questions.
The Saguache Drop Box is located in the parking lot south of the Courthouse at 501 4th St Saguache CO 81149.
The Clerk and Recorder’s Office will continue with visits at the Sheriff’s Satellite Office in Crestone beginning February 9, 2021. As a reminder, the schedule for those visits will be every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month.
There are no grace periods for late fees. You have 3 months in which to renew a vehicle registration - the month prior, the month of and 30 days following the expiration of the registration before late fees are assessed. Early in March, through June of 2020, the State waived late fees for vehicle registrations. That is no longer the case.
